News: Monj Health Partners with FMCA
Partnership Recognizes Increasing Importance of Fresh Foods in Overall Health
SAUSALITO, CA -- (February 8, 2023). — Monj Health, an innovative digital wellness company, has announced a strategic partnership with Functional Medicine Coaching Academy (FMCA), which provides the gold standard in health coaching education. Together, this partnership will allow FMCA graduates preferred access to Monj’s unique MonjCOOKS for Coaches curriculum.
FMCA is the only Health Coach Certification Program designed in collaboration with The Institute For Functional Medicine (IFM) and fully approved by the National Board for Health and Wellness Coaching (NBHWC). FMCA offers 100% online health coach education. The renowned FMCA Health Coach Certification™ Program fully prepares students with the training, experience, tools, and expertise to hit the ground running as a Functional Medicine Certified Health Coach (FMCHC) in 12 months. The FMCA Alumni Program™ provides continuing education, mentoring, internships, and job opportunities. Enrollment is now open for the March 2023 Class Health Coach Certification Program.
MonjCOOKS for Coaches is an on-demand online course approved for CEUs by the four premier health coaching and personal training organizations: The National Board of Health and Wellness Coaches (NBHWC), American Council on Exercise (ACE), National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM), and Athletic and Fitness Organization of America (AFAA). The program is centered on Monj Health's unique approach to building lifelong food and cooking skills while connecting with friends and family and improving overall health outcomes.
Drawing on the evidence-based DASH and Mediterranean Diets, MonjCOOKS teaches a vegetable-packed, flavor-forward food program that reduces inflammation and heals the gut. Throughout the course, Chopped Champion Chef Eliza Martin demonstrates how to make healthy food taste delicious, while Head of Coaching Amanda Hershberg provides expert guidance on how to level-up wellness coaching skills beyond motivational interviewing.
“FMCA prepares health coaches to partner with doctors and work on medical care teams, coach corporate employees, or establish their own wellness business. Given the rising incidence of chronic disease, the demand for health coaches outpaces the existing number of certified coaches. Consequently, the profession is poised for tremendous growth in 2023 and beyond.” said Dr. Sandra Scheinbaum, FMCA Founder & CEO. “Our training incorporates functional nutrition and the principle of food as medicine. FMCA graduates encourage their clients to cook, so partnering with MonjCOOKS allows us to offer additional educational opportunities and resources.
“Health coaches play a key role in delivering our digital wellness programs and ensuring success, so teaming up with FMCA to strategically grow our businesses is a natural fit for us” said Monj Health Founder, Adam DeVito. “Similarly, we created MonjCOOKS for Coaches to encourage coaches to meet us in the kitchen and learn how to truly nourish themselves, which is knowledge they can pass on to their clients. They also have the opportunity to grow their practice through an affiliate program that becomes available at the end of the course.”
